Job Title: Secondary SEN Teacher

Location: HillingdonManor School, Uxbridge

Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday toFriday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

About the role

Werequire an experienced and qualified teacher who has the ability tomake a significant contribution to our school. This role isbased in our Secondary Site, teaching classes aged between 11 and19, and the successful candidate will be teaching PE and Mathsclasses. We are happy to accept applications from candidateswith QTS status, whether their experience is in Primary orSecondary Teaching.

You will take a creativeapproach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs,ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximisespupils' achievement and ability to develop. The pupils maydisplay some challenging behaviour due to their different needs, sostaff are required to have experience.

Withinthis role, you will teach pupils in a fun and engaging way. Youwill also work with the support staff within the classroom toensure that each pupil is getting the support they require, butalso to ensure the smooth running of sessions and allow each pupilto have a positive learning environment. You will provide feedbackto SLT, parents and carers.

For this role, youshould:

  • Have previousexperience teaching in an SEN school or extensive experienceworking with pupils with complex additionalneeds.

  • Have experienceteaching and be able to plan fun and engagingsessions.

  • Have a UK QTS orQTLS.

At Hillingdon Manor, we providespecialist education for 185 pupils, aged between 3.5 and 19.Located across two sites. Our Secondary School supports around125 pupils. Our pupils are taught in smaller class sizes and allpupils work towards a variety of qualifications dependent on theirneeds and ability. This role will have responsibility forteaching pupils who are aged 11 - 14, but work at a variety ofdifferent levels, so we welcome applications from teachers withPrimary level SEN experience.
