Respiratory Registrar

Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for Respiratory Registrars to work with us at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust .

We are looking for doctors dedicated to, and passionate about, improving health and wellbeing to all patients.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer.
Conduct thorough clinical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests (such as spirometry, chest X-rays, CT scans, and blood gas analysis), and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Provide ongoing care and monitoring for patients with chronic respiratory conditions, ensuring optimal management of symptoms and prevention of exacerbations.
Manage respiratory patients admitted to the hospital, including those in general medical wards, respiratory units, and intensive care units (ICUs).
Participate in daily ward rounds, develop and implement care plans, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Respond to acute respiratory emergencies, provide resuscitation and stabilization, and initiate appropriate interventions.
Perform a variety of respiratory procedures, such as bronchoscopy, pleural aspiration, chest drain insertion, and thoracentesis, under the supervision of senior respiratory physicians.

About you:
Valid GMC
Right to work in the UK
Clinical attachment complete - We do not offer placements in the NHS
Minimum of 3-6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
