Greenacre are pleased to be supporting a housing association, based in Hertfordshire with their recruitment of a property inspector.

The ideal candidate will have experience identifying and specifying repairs required in housing association's housing stock, as well as prioritising and overseeing the work.
What will you do in the role?
- Liaise and visit residents to inspect, providing guidance, specifying and prioritising works, where required.
- Accurately undertaking inspections across all settle owned properties, internally, externally and common areas.
- Working with service controllers to ensure works are classified and raised based on defined priorities
- Oversee works, liasing with contractors (internal or external) ensuring adherence to health and safety, time and cost processes
- Have a good understanding of HHSRS.
- Have a strong understanding of building components and potentially a trade background
- Be familiar with the Decent Homes standard guidelines.
- Be flexible to support different types of inspections. Damp, mould and condensation reports, mutual exchanges, post inspections etc.
Skills and experience
- IT skills. Suitable to complete forms and communicate instructions
- Familiarity with handheld data capture devices
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, bringing enthusiasm and a 'can-do' attitude.
- The ability to undertake surveys from day one.
- A good understanding of building elements and why they fail.
- A good understanding of why damp, mould and condensation occur, and solutions required to remedy them
- Excellent customer services skills - you want to serve customers and have a passion for ensuring homes are safe and a place they are proud to live
