Job Description

Location: Covent Garden, London

Salary: Competitive

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week onsite, Monday - Friday. Some flexibility may be required around occasional weekend working.

About the role

This is a hands-on role, which includes managing a cyclical renovations program, with a strong emphasis on classroom refurbishment, to ensure we maintain an outstanding learning environment. You will be responsible for project and logistics management for the renovations, including working with designers, architects and other tradespeople as required.

You will also focus on the maintenance and repair of fire doors, ensuring they meet safety and compliance standards. You should possess expertise in one of the following trades: carpentry, painting and decorating, or floor laying. The role also has budget responsibility to manage the annual renovations budget of the College.

  • Proven experience in repairing and maintaining fire doors, with relevant certification and strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relating to fire doors.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following trades: carpentry, painting and decorating, floor laying or plumbing.
  • Experience in managing a cyclical renovations program, particularly in an educational setting.
  • Experience of delivering building projects in a live building environment.
  • Experience of project managing building works.
