Job Description
What's involved with this role: Interim Regulatory Services Environmental Health OfficerReference no: Portsmouth Pay Rate: £35.76 per hour PAYE37 Monday - Sunday, TBC This opening assignment is for 3 monthsCity: PORTSMOUTHRequire weekdays/weekday evenings onlyFlexible working is possible - the officer can work up to 37 hrs per week but this could be 3 working days a week or equivalent split over a shorter working day. Evening working is also possible, and preferred, as a number of premises require inspection out of normal office hours.Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out food compliance inspections of low and medium risk premises to ensure compliance with UK and international standards for food safety, hygiene and sanitation.
  • Issuing relevant certification and the delivery of follow up enforcement actions.
  • Provide advice and guidance.
Key requirements:
  • Must have a recognised food qualification to carry out food interventions as detailed in Food Standards Agency Food law Code of Practice.
  • Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board, or equivalent.
  • An excellent, detailed and up to date working knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the inspection of food businesses.
  • Demonstrable compliance with CIEH CPD requirements and the FLCofP competency criteria.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Flexible to work some evenings and weekends as required.
