Job Description
Interim Building Surveyor job required to work on housing in Cardiff

Your New Organisation
My client is a public sector organisation dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable housing solutions in Cardiff for their tenants.
Your New Role
As a Project Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing and delivering a range of housing projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting detailed building surveys and inspections.
  • Diagnosing defects on-site and reporting on solutions.
  • Pricing the works and managing the tender process.
  • Bringing in contractors and managing them from inception through to completion.
  • Preparing and managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinating with contractors, architects, tenants and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with building regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Providing technical advice and support to the project team.
  • Managing project documentation and reporting.

  • What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • Degree in Building Surveying, or in construction and relevant experience surveying within housing.
  • Proven experience in project management within the housing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations and construction standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as excel and asset management software.

  • What You'll Get in Return
    This is an interim opportunity with the potential of being a long-term contract which comes with a rate of pay of £24 per hour (premium) PAYE. This means that national insurance contributions are covered by the employer. The contract is 37 hours a week, and you will be working with a large housing team with up to 8 surveyors.
