Job Description
New build hotel project foundation, steel, concrete, façade & fit out, £75k Reading

Your new company is an independent, family-owned construction business based in Hampshire, England. They specialise in luxury residential developments, commercial, industrial, and hospitality construction projects, delivering bespoke new-build and refurbishment schemes with a strong focus on customer care. Their projects range in value from £70k up to £6million across Hampshire, Surrey, and SW London, and they are looking to bring in a Project Manager to build a new hotel in the centre of Reading for a developer. The scheme is estimated to start in early 2025 and last 18 months with a value of £6-8 million and consist of 163 rooms.
Your new role is to manage the scheme effectively and efficiently as number one on site to ensure the business objectives in terms of design, quality control, subcontract management, HSEQ, profitability and customer focus are achieved or exceeded. You will be reporting to the Directors, supported in the office by Estimators, Surveyors, and back-office staff to ensure the construction tasks are completed. These tasks include managing the clients' expectations, architecture designs, issuing instructions to the Site Team / Suppliers to ensure that they are adhering to the contract program and scope of work.
You would need to take ownership of the contracts from foundation stage through to practical completion of this unique town centre project.
What you'll need to succeed is a successful history of delivering steel framed public buildings as the number one on site: hotels, schools, hospitals, care homes or student accommodation. You will have experience of delivering projects valuing up to £6 million in new build and refurbishment jobs in the UK. You will be based in Berkshire or Hampshire and be prepared to travel to jobs in Hampshire after this job finishes. You will be formally trained in construction holding a relevant construction qualification, B.Eng., HNC or HND, and have a good understanding of specialist trades, the construction process, site safety, IT literacy and a high level of communication skills as well as leadership. You will have the right to work in the UK, a solid UK-based work history with no self-employment, hold a CSCS card and a clean criminal record.
What you'll get in return is a permanent vacancy with a salary of £70,000-80,000 depending on experience, plus a vehicle or car allowance. You will be entitled to holiday pay, company pension scheme and flexible working hours revolving around site visits. This role would suit a candidate that is motivated by working without the normal bureaucratic rules of working in a contractual environment.
