The Role:

Joining our expanding Private Rented Housing Team, you'll help improve the efficiency and overall success of our Temporary Accommodation and Resettlement department. Working across a considerable variety of housing, you'll procure everything from temporary accommodation to direct lets and private rented sector properties.

It's all about creating a steady supply of accommodation for households in housing need, then following up with effective contract monitoring. You will work closely with private landlords to secure safe and suitable accommodation for our residents. You'll also be working closely with our residents in Supported Housing, Temporary Accommodation and Bridging Accommodation and supporting them to move into alternative accommodation. On top of your core duties, you'll implement impactful operational plans that fit with our wider strategy as a council.

You'll be joining us at an exciting period following the restructuring of our department - we've introduced totally new ways of working, but we want to keep innovating and achieve even more. On top of this, you'll be able to take advantage of extensive training opportunities, including specialist property training.

This is a hybrid role where you will be working 3-4 days per week on-site at our offices in Kensington Town Hall.

About You:

We're looking for solid experience in housing or property. This includes experience in procurement, contract management and working with landlords or letting agents. You'll be able to confidently handle a demanding workload and communicate effectively with all kinds of people. A good knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and the private rented sector is important.

You'll also need to be energetic, enthusiastic and resourceful, with a genuine passion for property. Ideally, you'll be qualified to carry out property inspections under the Housing Health and Safety Rating system, but this isn't essential.
