Principal Mechanical Engineer

A fantastic opportunity for a principal Mechanical Engineer to support a UK nuclear and defence project on a remote basis has become available so if you're a well-rounded and qualified principal level mechanical engineer I want to hear from you

• Job Title - Principal Mechanical Engineer
• Location - Remote
• Contract Length - 12 Months
• Pay Rate - £60 - £75 hour (INSIDE IR35)

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the engineering design remains aligned with the overall design intent and maintain its integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review, approve, and produce technical documentation including calculations, analyses, drawings, models, and reports.
• Foster effective cooperation across engineering teams and other departments to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing and new customers, ensuring their needs are met, resolving technical and delivery issues, and keeping them informed on project progress.
• Identify and apply relevant procedures, codes, and standards to all engineering activities.
• Proactively communicate and manage risks at the task and project levels.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A minimum of an HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain or already holds Chartered status, demonstrating advanced expertise in your field.
• You are a leader who champions high performance and is not afraid to challenge existing processes for better outcomes.
• Knowledge of CAD tools and general engineering drawing practices is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Proven experience in leading a team effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.
