Principal Mechanical Engineer - AI Data Center Power Electronics (f/m/div)

In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of power solutions tailored for AI data centers. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, reliability, and performance of our power modules/solutions, supporting the growing demand for high-performance computing and AI applications.

In your job job you will:

• Design mechanical systems & power modules, ensuring optimal performance, thermal management, and reliability for AI data centers
• Develop and validate mechanical concepts considering materials, manufacturing, and assembly
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams for seamless integration of Infineon's solutions
• Work with suppliers to enhance design and manufacturability
• Perform mechanical simulations to predict behavior and refine designs
• Drive fast-prototype fabrication and test for performance and durability
• Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness with manufacturing teams
• Document design processes, test results and technical specifications with cross-functional teams

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, especially in power electronics
• Skilled in power electronics assembly processes like soldering, dispensing, encapsulation, and surface mounting
• Familiarity with industry suppliers and landscape is a plus
• Proficient in CAD software and simulation tool
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, fluent in English; German is a plus

We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group I (). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
