About the Role:

A new opportunity has arisen within the Adult Learning Disabilities Team for a permanent Practitioner Manager.

This position offers excellent opportunities for the right candidate to provide operational management support to the Team Manager who covers the service areas for Adult Learning Disabilities Team.

The role will put you at the forefront of the service working closely with the Team Manager and colleagues across health, to provide operational and professional practice management to staff team members.

You will have responsibility for the delivery of a quality care management service, embedding strength-based practice and oversight on MCA work and S.42 Enquiries. The need to maintain a responsive, safe and person-centered service for our clients is a key focus as we redevelop our services in and work towards delivering the vision of Lambeth Together.

The role requires a qualified social work professional (DipSW or equivalent), able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of working within adult social care and providing management. The team is well resourced and provides excellent partnership working with specialist health colleagues and services within the borough. The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Providing line management of front-line operational services which includes the provision a comprehensive assessment and case management service to adults with care and support needs.
  • To deliver ongoing improvements in practice and standards of work through the application of specialised knowledge and skills
  • Take the lead on ensuring that the service requirement to safeguard adults is delivered according to agreed standards.
  • Support the Team Managers in the delivery of a high-quality Adult Social Care service

It is essential that you demonstrate your ability to manage, motivate and lead in a demanding environment with frequently changing priorities. You will provide direct line management to 4-6 Social Workers and Assessors. You will deputise for the Team Manager as required. The post requires you to develop staff to maximise their potential and achieve customer focused outcomes. It is therefore essential that you exhibit excellent communication and planning skills and be committed to partnership working across statutory and third sector organisations. Candidates are required to have management experience in assessment and care management.

You will be provided with regular supervision and access to ongoing training and development to enhance and develop your career in Adult Social Care.
