Job Description
The starting date for the position is October 1, 2025, or by agreement. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work during a two-year contract on a project of your choice in the field of wealth research. The position is funded by the Leibniz Prize awarded to Prof. Dr. Jens Beckert by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Professor Beckert would also be your advisor. The MPIfG offers postdoctoral researchers excellent working conditions in an attractive, international research environment. Salary and benefits are according to the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD E 13). Our postdoctoral researchers are expected to reside in the Cologne area and work at the Institute so that they can participate fully in the intellectual life of the MPIfG. Scholars of all nationalities who successfully completed their doctoral degree no longer than three years before the start date of their contract with the MPIfG are eligible to apply. The successful candidate will hold an outstanding doctorate in sociology, political science, or economics in the field of wealth research and will be chosen on the basis of scholarly excellence, a research proposal outlining a project to be pursued at the MPIfG (up to 3 pages), and a job interview.
