Job Description
Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Portal Developer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £331/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.

Responsibilities:

- A number of production defects and configuration updates that need immediate attention.
- A series of updates and ongoing maintenance/support to the Vocational Trainer Application forms, Quality Management modules and overall process alongside updates to the online Course Bookings/Management area.
- Work on technical tasks that come out of Pen Testing, a statutory requirement.
- Preparing the Portal for decommissioning and/or decommissioning some or all of the application in a controlled, measured manner.
- The post holder will also be used as functional/technical consultant to advise the Dev Team tasked with creating replacement functionality, as and when advice is sought. This is an advisory role; the post-holder is the dedicated "go to" person on all things Portal related and will not be tasked with any "build" work on other applications.

Essential Skills:

- Candidate should have 5+ years within a senior development post.
- Payment Gateway experience
- Experience of working flexibly and collaboratively within your own team and across other workstreams
- Experienced in Agile Methodologies
- T-SQL
- Azure VMs
- Ext JS v 3.4
- ASP.NET
- C#
- HTML
- CSS
- Octopus Deploy
- Skilled in influencing at all levels, especially with reference to shaping requirements and presenting potential solutions.
- Ability to work within available time constraints, delivering solutions that can be built upon in an Agile manner where scope must be restricted.
- Continually strives to develop processes and ways of working to improve the quality of services.
- Ability to establish key tasks and components in the reporting data landscape and identify suitable Agile stories for these.
- Values driven leadership approach to practice, aligned with core organisational values.

Desirable Skills:

- Honours Degree level qualification with in-depth experience or SCQF Level 10 equivalence obtained via Professional Development Awards; Graduate or Professional Apprenticeships; and SVQs.
