Job Description

Policy Manager| 4 Months (Inside IR35)| Hybrid (Edinburgh)

Harvey Nash's Client is recruiting for a Policy Manager on a contract running until the 30th of April 2025.

Main Responsibilities

  • Legislative Support: Assist in the production of website content and other materials by reviewing all text to ensure compliance with the appropriate legislation. Provide support in coordinating briefings and preparing responses to requests for information and correspondence.
  • Legislative Support for Decision-Making: Aid in development and decision-making for annual and general business reporting within the parameters of legislation, ensuring that the Office of the Adjudicator delivers value for money.
  • Review and Compliance: Begin work on guidance and supportive material using relevant legislation.
  • Information Management: Ensure all information is carefully filed and website updates are made promptly.
  • Flexible Support: Work flexibly across the Adjudicator's office, providing necessary support to both the Adjudicator and the Head of Office as needed.

Key Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate legal/policy intentions clearly and effectively.
  • Experience of policy development which considers legal requirements.
  • Proven experience working in legislative environments, collaborating across various areas with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of key priorities.
  • Strong capability to work flexibly, prioritise tasks, balance competing demands, and manage workload pressures to meet deadlines.
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to present information in a simple and compelling manner to aid understanding for a variety of audiences.
  • Can support preparing reports and business cases and draft correspondence in line with areas of responsibility.
  • Can design, implement and put in monitoring systems a quality framework which considers how well we are working and what we can do to continually improve.
  • Excellent communication skills with a wide range of people.
