Job Description
Plant Technician

Our client is a world leader in cellular material technology, headquartered in Croydon, UK, with additional manufacturing sites in Kentucky, USA and Brzeg, Poland, Oklahoma, USA (foam products manufacture and conversion), Massachusetts, USA and Jiangsu Province, China (T-FIT).

They produce lightweight foams for various markets including sports and leisure, aviation, automotive and healthcare. They also own and licenses patented technology and sells advanced insulation systems.

The Company is on a fast growth path, with strong revenue & profitability growth in recent years and ambitious growth plans for the near future.

Role Responsibilities:

You will regularly inspect the plant including industrial boilers, compressors, pumps, fire panels, and report issues to management. Complete detailed PPM works on production equipment including pneumatic conveying systems, conveyors, extruders, pressure vessels, QCP equipment. In addition, provide detailed reports for all work completed within their computerised system whilst performing planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment safety, reliability and lead ongoing process improvements, developing new ideas and solutions. Finally ensure Health & Safety risks are reported, and controlled, and safe practices are implemented and communicated.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Mechanical engineering qualification (min. NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of UK experience, especially within FMCG, moulding or similar industry will be beneficial. Full training for site specific equipment will be provided
  • Understanding of Health & Safety
  • Understanding of SCADA/Automated Systems will be beneficial but not must have as training will be provided
  • Experience in mechanical fault finding, problem analysis, and continuous improvement
  • Completion of planned maintenance routine experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent literacy, numerical ability, and communication skills.
