Pig Unit Manager

Are you an experienced Outdoor Pig Unit Manager who leads by example and puts animal welfare first?

On behalf of our reputable client, we are recruiting for an experienced Outdoor Pig Unit Manager to join their team.

The unit has 900 sows producing 1200 piglets on a 3-week batch, plus in-house gilt replacements.

You will work with good equipment on a newly established site with a team of four.

The successful candidate will be actively involved with all areas of the pig breeding unit.

Key duties:

• Responsible for managing the staff
• Ensuring the condition of the livestock is maintained at a high standard
• Managing the performance of the unit
• Ensuring targets are met
• Maintaining commercial focus while providing direction to the team

The successful candidate will have previous experience with livestock and managerial expertise. Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for flexible individuals who always prioritise animal welfare.

Salary: From £32,000 + DOE

• 24 days holiday
