Pig Stockperson

We are recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for a farm in Lincolnshire LN8.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day welfare of two bed-and-breakfast pig units. One unit has 3,000 weaners, and the other has 2,700 finishing pigs.

The units are straw-based, and the equipment used is the usual feed and drinking system with feed bins on a feeding system and drinker units.

Job duties:

• Responsible for the day-to-day management of the pigs
• Administration of medication
• Ensuring the general welfare of pigs
• Cleaning out sheds when the pigs leave
• Using a tractor & telehandler for bedding & cleaning out

Salary: £15 - £17 per hour DOE + a 3-bed house available.

Hours include weekend work based on 40 hours per week with additional hours for the weekend, which would mean going and checking the pigs to ensure drinkers, the feed system is working, and the pigs are ok.
