Contract: Self-employed

Required from: As soon as possible
We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and high-achieving peripatetic trombone teacher to join the Music Department at Putney High on a self-employed basis, teaching trombone to pupils in the Senior School.
There are currently two pupils who learn trombone at school, and the availability of the candidate would ideally be on a Monday or Friday lunchtime. We are keen to grow the number of students learning trombone in school and there may be scope to teach the Junior School pupils, initially presenting in a Junior School assembly.
Music provides the heartbeat to life at Putney High Senior School; it has a wonderfully vibrant and inclusive department, and pupils are passionate about music.
The curriculum is varied and stimulating, and there is a thriving, full co-curricular programme; pupils enjoy choirs, orchestras and ensembles, led predominantly by the Director of Music.
Approximately ninety percent of pupils learn a musical instrument from a flourishing team of visiting music teachers.
Regular performances take place throughout the school year, including the Carol Service, concerts, and productions.
The candidate will be a specialist in their instrument and arrange lessons for pupils of a wide range of ability, fostering a lifelong interest in making music. The successful candidate should be able to work with pupils beyond Grade 8 standard.
