Role Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Payroll Administrator to work within our payroll team. This part-time position requires between 40 to 80 hours per month, offering flexibility in how you structure your working hours around the payroll deadlines. You will be responsible for ensuring all payroll activities are carried out accurately and on time, in compliance with UK regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls for a variety of companies (including hourly paid, salaries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions)
- Ensure accurate and timely calculation of tax, National Insurance, and pension contributions
- Maintain and update employee records (e.g. tax codes, bank details, and pay changes)
- Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions
- Submit payroll-related filings (RTI submissions, etc.) to HMRC in a timely manner
- Assist with year-end processes, including P60 and P11D forms
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Support with any other payroll-related administrative tasks as required
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, taxes, and benefits
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently
- Knowledge of pensions and benefits administration is a plus
