Posted 1 day 16 hours ago by PARKER SMITH INCLUSION
I am looking for a Pastoral Support Lead for a brand new SEMH specialist provision in the Royal Borough of Richmond Upon Thames Could it be you?
Set within a therapeutic environment, the school is well-informed on neurodiversity, emotional, sensory, and physical needs, relationships, and attachment. The provision demonstrates inclusive, strengths-based practice, and the resilient development of every child is at the core of its ethos. As this provision was opened in September 2024, they currently have 7 students enrolled.
About the Pastoral Support Lead position
The Pastoral Support Lead will work with all pupils but have a particular complex caseload to coordinate and conduct multi-disciplinary assessments, undertake family work as required, work individually with some students, liaise with Social Care, and oversee new pupil introduction. You will provide the link between families and the school. This will include addressing concerns and monitoring pupil attendance, overall results, and punctuality, as well as ensuring there is a strong channel of communication with all partnership agencies and parents/carers. The role will see you supporting the Headteacher and the Senior Teacher with managerial tasks such as assigning duties to Teaching Assistants, and you will complete individual Education and Behavioural Plans for each pupil, identifying what matters require more focus.
There are many responsibilities connected to this position, such as developing Integration Plans for pupils coming to school for the first time, identifying possible issues of concern regarding pupils' pastoral and academic progress, organizing inter-agency meetings, and expanding ongoing liaison with external works such as Youth Offending Teams, Police, and other curriculum support areas.
