NPD Packaging Technician

CK Group are recruiting for a NPD Packaging Technician, to join a global FMCG chemical manufacturing company at their facilities located near Durham on a permanent basis.

The Company:

Our client is a leading chemical manufacture, specialising in developing and producing personal care and laundry care products and exports them globally.

Location:

This position is located near Durham, UK, the role will be based fully on site.

The Role:

To focus on NPD, NPI and EPI (continuous improvement) for personal care and FMCG packaging, delivering new packaging concepts and taking them from initial concept to production. Those categories include hand hygiene, homecare, laundry, washing up liquid, shower, deodorant.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new packaging solutions from research and prototype stage through to production.
• Continuous improvement of existing packaging, identifying and implementing efficiency and cost saving improvements within the manufacturing process.
• Input into technical aspects such as sizing colour and finishes.
• Communicate cross departmentally to ensure projects are delivered and maintained.
• Seek out and evaluate new packaging ideas via high market awareness and research (online, trade shows etc).

Your Background:

• Degree in Science or Technology or a general technical background, ideally in FMCG or personal care.
• Experienced within NPD and manufacturing project delivery.
• PRINCE qualifications for continuous improvement (highly desirable)
• Experience in delivering packaging solutions (highly desirable)
• Self starter attitude, willing to seek out improvements in all aspects of the product lifecycle.
