Job Description

Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Non-Executive Director

Remuneration: £13,000 per annum

Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated care trust which provides hospital and community health services for Hackney, the City and the surround Communities. Their 4,000 dedicated and passionate staff work out of Homerton University Hospital itself as well as from a further 60 partner sites across north east London.

Rated an "Outstanding" by the CQC, the Trust is making good progress on its 5 year strategy "Our Future Together", which has six strategic priorities to help them achieve their vision. The Trust serves 270,000 people across the City and Hackney, an ethnically diverse population with significant inequalities, and the Trust also have a high reputation for its training and research. The Trust is proud of its ties into the communities it serves, with a long standing reputation as an active member of them.

The Trust has long been a pioneer in integration and place-based partnerships to join up health and care services for local people. Through the City and Hackney Place Partnership the Trust is improving outcomes and reducing inequalities for its local population, working with a range of partners to drive transformation and change. The Trust is part of the North East London Integrated Care System, and is proud to work as part of this wider system to join up care for its communities.

The Trust is looking to appoint a new Non-Executive Director to its board, to hold the Executive Directors to account and support them in delivering on their ambitious strategy. With experience of working at or near board in large and complex organisations, they want someone who is excited by their vision and wants to be part of their journey to improve outcomes for patients.

Prior NHS experience is not a requirement, and the Trust are especially keen to improve the diversity of their board and would encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply. They know they have much to do to improve outcomes for patients from marginalised groups, and this role offers the opportunity to be part of that process.
