Job Description

A well-established and global professional services business with a strong presence in Glasgow is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. You'll be working across a hybrid model (3 days onsite), supporting the backbone of their network operations in a hands-on, 3rd line support role - all within a collaborative and future-focused environment.

The Role

You'll be part of a tight-knit infrastructure team spread across Glasgow, London, and Australia, and your main responsibility will be to support, maintain, and improve the global network infrastructure. This covers everything from day-to-day BAU support and troubleshooting to implementation of new systems and technologies.

You'll also play a key role in ensuring the network meets the company's high security and performance standards, and you'll work closely with third-party vendors on complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

The work is varied - from dealing with tickets and projects during core hours to occasionally getting involved in pre-planned evening/weekend changes (with time off in lieu, of course). There's also a shared on-call rota across the team.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with solid experience in enterprise-level networking, including:

  • Strong Cisco skills (Nexus 3K/9K, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and WAN/LAN support.
  • Experience with Firewalls (ideally Palo Alto or Fortinet) and Aruba wireless.
  • Familiarity with Layer 7 security, Riverbed WAN optimisation, VPNs, MPLS, QoS.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, and F5 (LTM/GTM/APM).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

It'd be a bonus if you've worked with Aruba ClearPass, Azure ExpressRoute, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, O365), VMware NSX, or hold an ITIL cert.

Why Join?

This is a great chance to join a globally recognised organisation that's genuinely investing in its tech and people. You'll work on meaningful projects with a supportive, future-focused team and benefit from a flexible hybrid model (3 days in office/2 from home), generous salary, and strong emphasis on collaboration and professional growth.

If you're looking for a role that mixes technical depth with real teamwork, this could be your next move!
