Position Title: NetApp NCSIE Field Engineer (Design and Implementation)
Location: UK + ad hoc travel
Employment Type: Contract 12 months, inside IR35
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NetApp Certified Storage Implementation Engineer (NCSIE) to join our team as a Field Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting advanced storage solutions for our clients. This role requires hands-on expertise with NetApp technologies, a deep understanding of storage architectures, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities Design and Architecture
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to assess business requirements and design NetApp storage solutions tailored to their needs.
- Develop detailed implementation plans, including high- and low-level designs, ensuring optimal system performance and scalability.
- Conduct solution architecture reviews to confirm alignment with best practices and customer goals.
Implementation and Deployment
- Execute on-site and remote installation, configuration, and optimization of NetApp storage solutions.
- Migrate data and integrate storage systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to customer operations.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of complex technical issues during deployment.
Qualifications and Skills Required Skills:
- NetApp Certified Storage Implementation Engineer (NCSIE) certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing NetApp storage solutions, including ONTAP, FlexPod, SnapMirror, and SnapVault.
- Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, and cloud storage technologies.
- Proficiency in protocols such as NFS, SMB/CIFS, and iSCSI.
- Experience with tools like Active IQ Unified Manager, Cloud Insights, and SnapCenter.
- Hands-on knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and their integration with NetApp solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and NetApp Cloud Volumes.
- Basic Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Ansible) for automation and orchestration.
- Understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, TCP/IP, and routing.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel as required to customer sites for project delivery and support.
