MES Project Manager - 3 Days Onsite P/W in Basel - No Expenses - €500/day - ASAP Start

Must be located In/Around Basel so available to travel 3 days per week.

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the successful implementation, enhancement, and support of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in IT project management, MES solutions, and manufacturing operations, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality results while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management:

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines for MES implementation or upgrade projects.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring milestones are met within budget and schedule.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies, and manage change effectively.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

• Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, engineering, and external vendors, to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and training with business users and technical teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all MES-related project communications.

• Technical Implementation:

  • Oversee MES solution design, configuration, integration, and deployment with existing enterprise systems (ERP, SCADA, PLM, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and company compliance policies during implementation.
  • Evaluate and validate MES system performance and recommend improvements.

• Support and Maintenance:

  • Provide post-implementation support, troubleshooting, and updates as needed.
  • Develop documentation for processes, system architecture, and user manuals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on MES implementation and support in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, workflows, and MES applications (eg, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk, Aveva MES, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in project management tools (eg, MS Project, Jira, Trello).
• Experience with system integration and interfacing MES with ERP, SCADA, or PLC systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks, such as ISA-95, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with MES configuration, customization, and Scripting.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices in MES and industrial control systems.
• Experience in managing global or multi-site MES deployments.
