Job Description
Due to continued growth, a long-established and innovative manufacturing company in the interior building design industry who are going from strength to strength, is looking for a Mechanical Production Engineer to play a key role in integrating new products into the manufacturing process in this newly created role. As Mechanical Production Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Health and Safety: Leading efforts to maintain a safe production floor, implementing proactive safety improvements.
- Quality and NPI: Upholding manufacturing quality standards and acting as the Mechanical Lead for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
- Manufacturing Documentation: Creating and updating essential documentation such as SOPs, BOMs, and AutoCAD drawings to support standardisation in production engineering.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilising Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and drive innovation within the manufacturing processes.
- Technical Support: Conducting root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve issues, while supporting new machinery installations in the manufacturing environment.
- Education: HND or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: Extensive experience in a production engineering role, with a strong background in manufacturing processes.
- Health and Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with Health and Safety systems (IOSH desirable) and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Quality Systems: Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, ensuring manufacturing quality.
- Lean Manufacturing: Hands-on experience with Lean methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, and FMEA to drive process improvements.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and standard IT software, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: A keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills to collaborate across departments.
