This is a fantastic opportunity to join a multi award winning group in a pivotal role. Liberation Group is an award-winning group comprising premium, food led pubs and brewing and distribution businesses across the South-West of England and the Channel Islands, operating under the Butcombe brand in the UK and the Liberation brand in Jersey and Guernsey.

As the Group Health & Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff, customers, and maintaining our stellar reputation.

Group Health & Safety Manager Overview

Reporting to the Property Director and working with all group departments and locations, you will lead the charge in establishing and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety across our entire organisation. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, driving a culture of proactive safety management, and safeguarding our people and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures across all brewery and pub locations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Lead health and safety training programs to promote awareness and compliance among all staff levels.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, insurers, and other stakeholders on health and safety matters.
  • Provide expert advice and support to site managers and colleagues on risk management and emergency planning.
  • Monitor health and safety performance metrics, preparing detailed reports and recommending improvements.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and legislative changes to update policies accordingly.
  • Foster a proactive health and safety culture through effective communication and engagement with teams.

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Proven experience in health and safety policy development and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment and compliance standards.
  • Ability to train and educate stakeholders on health and safety issues.
  • Expertise in incident investigation and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Membership in a recognised professional body.
