About the Role

DigitalQ is urgently hiring a MacOS Software Engineer to work on a prestigious mobile sector client project in Cork, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-impact development team, designing and building cutting-edge applications for MacOS and iOS platforms.

As a MacOS Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining applications, ensuring high performance, usability, and seamless user experience. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Objective-C, Swift, SwiftUI, and AppKit frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain MacOS and iOS applications with a strong focus on UI design and implementation.
  • Utilize Objective-C, Swift, SwiftUI, and AppKit to build robust and scalable applications.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Debug, optimize, and enhance application performance.
  • Ensure adherence to MacOS development best practices, security guidelines, and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG).
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile development processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • MacOS Development Experience - Strong expertise in developing and maintaining MacOS applications.
  • Objective-C & Swift - Proficiency in both programming languages.
  • SwiftUI & AppKit - Hands-on experience with SwiftUI for UI development and AppKit for macOS applications.
  • UI/UX Design Knowledge - Understanding of Apple's HIG and ability to create intuitive interfaces.
  • Problem-Solving & Debugging - Strong analytical skills to resolve complex software issues.
  • Ability to Work Independently - Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with macOS System Extensions, Key chain Services, and Security Practices.
  • Knowledge of Core Data, Networking (URLSession, WebSockets), and performance optimization.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
