Linux Analyst

Robert Half Technology are assisting a market leading financial services organisation based in central London to recruit a Linux Analyst on a 12 month day rate contract basis.

Role

• The Linux Analyst will work to ensure issue types (incident, service requests, tasks) raised on Service Desk are addressed within defined SLA's
• Work to ensure that root-cause problems are identified implemented through incident & problem management processes including underpinning supplier partner models.
• Support supplier management process to ensure that supplier agreements underpinning technical services are being delivered to service level agreements.
• Support the change management process to ensure that all change activities are planned and authorised with the appropriate business justification
• Support test automation and manual testing environments (Selenium web driver, UNIX shell, Perl)
• Support IT service continuity processes underpinning disaster recovery plan
• Provide support for buyer integration projects (EDI, file format etc, custom processes)
• Provide technical application domain knowledge underpinning SCF services to Operations / Customers
• Execute & improve processes (CSI) necessary to support the service delivery model
• Interface between the business and technical areas of SCF solution
• Out of hours support will be required as part of the role

Profile

• The Linux Analyst will be an effective team player with good communication and excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience of incident & problem management lifecycles in ITIL service desk framework
• Strong technical experience supporting/enhancing multi-tiered UNIX/Linux OS systems & application stacks
• Understanding of key networking technologies
• System programming skills (i.e. UNIX shell, Perl, Java, SQL etc)
• Basic SAP Basis (ECC6.0) administration (transport, user entitlement, client administration, performance)
• Basic database administration (Sybase ASE, mysql)
• Management of SSL certificates used in our applications
• Ideally any knowledge supporting following applications: - Apache/Openssl, jBoss/J2EE (7.2, 8.0), Lexicom (AS2), Jasperserver (jrxml), Jira (Service desk, Jira, Confluence), Selenium web driver, Test Rail, GPG, exim, munin, pureftp (sftp/ftp)
• Experience of supplier management in a service management context
• Ideally ITIL V3 foundation accreditation
