Contract: Permanent 40 Hours Per Week minimum
Hourly Rate: £15.28ph + £2.52ph additional night rate between 18:00 to 06:00 + £19.86 subsistence allowance per day + £8.81 food allowance per day.
Location: DPD Bicester, Unit D, Symmetry Park, Bicester, OX26 6GF
Days of Work: Monday to Friday
Shift Window: 12:00 - 21:00

Job Description

As a Class 1 Tramper driver, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers throughout the United Kingdom. Your primary duty will be to operate modern fleet vehicles on an agreed shift pattern, delivering palette loads to HGV-friendly locations.

Key responsibilities include:

Undertake a minimum of four nights per week away from base, utilising secure DPD locations for overnight rest periods.
Operate within a designated region surrounding your base depot, adhering to all relevant road traffic laws and company policies.
Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods, maintaining a high standard of customer service at all times.
Conduct thorough vehicle checks before and after each journey, reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
Accurately complete all required documentation, including delivery notes and tachograph records.
Maintain a clean and tidy appearance, wearing company-provided uniform when on duty.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper manual handling techniques when loading and unloading goods.
Communicate effectively with depot staff, customers, and other drivers to ensure smooth operations.
Participate in any required training or professional development activities to maintain and enhance your skills.
Represent DPD in a professional manner at all times, upholding the company's reputation and values.

This role demands a high level of commitment, professionalism, and adherence to regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate exceptional time management skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with the base depot.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence: Candidates must possess a current and valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence, demonstrating their legal ability to operate large goods vehicles.
Extensive Class 1 Experience: A minimum of 12 months' verifiable experience in Class 1 driving is required, ensuring candidates have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the role effectively.
Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card: Applicants must hold a valid UK CPC Card, indicating their commitment to ongoing professional development and compliance with industry regulations.
Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card: Possession of a current UK Digital Tachograph Card is essential, demonstrating the ability to accurately record driving hours and rest periods in accordance with legal requirements.
