Lecturer, Socially Engaged Performance
Full time (1.0 FTE), Permanent

Salary Grade 6 is £44,682 - £49,598 per annum including London Weighting.

Our BA Drama and Applied Theatre is a pioneering degree designed to train and inspire the next generation of critical practitioners, performance makers and educators wishing to be at the forefront of change that benefits individuals and communities. Our students are passionate about the arts as a springboard for social change.

We seek a Lecturer in Socially Engaged Performance who will be responsible for teaching and research. This role includes course development, pastoral support, student-centred collaborations in socially engaged performance, community arts and applied theatre.

Your research will engage with socially-engaged performance, its histories and practices, and their resonance in contemporary performance and other related artistic disciplines. You may work at the intersection between performance and digital technologies; performance and aesthetics/knowledges of access and disability; performance and politics/practices of abolition; performance from minoritised communities or in under-represented areas of performance, including Queer performance, Black, Global Majority and Diaspora performance.

You will have a commitment to decentring and diversifying performance research, scholarship and education and be able to contribute to teaching across modules including modules on performance making.
