  • Shifts: Mon - Tues - Wed 8.45 - 4.15

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with experience working with young people with visual impairment. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for education and a desire to help students achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will have prior experience in an educational setting and the necessary qualifications to support learning across various age groups and abilities.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups to aid their learning and development.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor students' progress and contribute to their learning plans.
  • Encourage students' independence, self-confidence, and engagement in the classroom.
  • Support students with special educational needs, ensuring they have equal access to learning.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents when necessary.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and confidentiality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with partially blind/visually impaired individuals.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards student development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other educational staff.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
