It's an exciting time to join our client as they continue to expand their social enterprises. They are seeking an individual with experience in care to support with the day-to-day running of their Ashvale & Orchard project. This is a varied and rewarding role which will see you provide leadership to their Horticulture team where you will hold responsibility for planning, delivering and evaluating activities that build skills, increase knowledge and prepare the children, young people and adults for their future.

What you'll be doing:

  • planning and overseeing the vocational horticulture provision for children and young people with learning disabilities
  • ensuring the safe horticultural practice and maintenance of Ashvale including day-to-day preparation and maintenance of the site.
  • ongoing evaluation of their programme to set high standards for the team and to build capacity for growth to attract new admissions to the service.
  • supporting with the organisation of events within the local area

About you

You will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team. A keen interest in horticulture is essential and experience in a similar role would be preferred but they can top up your knowledge with thier fantastic learning and development programmes. You will have a genuine interest in the people that they support and experience working with people who have physical or learning disabilities. Knowledge of Ofsted or PAMMS would be an advantage to enable you to support with continuous quality improvement.
