Lead Data Steward

JobDescription:

TheData Steward in the Demand Data team manages critical data acrossPetcare markets, encompassing pets, pet owners, consumers,marketing, and sales. Working in partnership with data stewards anddata leads across Mars Petcare you will organize and monitorbusiness data throughout its lifecycle and implement datagovernance policies, practices and tools to ensure data isaccurate, complete, available and usable. Success means deliveringthe right data to users precisely when they need it, ensuring itmatches their specific use case and supports our businessstrategy.

Whatare we looking for?

• Dataprivacy: Knowledge of and experience working with relevant dataprotection and privacy regulations e.g.GDPR
• Data modelling: Strong understanding ofdata modelling principles, with hands-on experience in designing,creating, and maintaining data models.
• Datagovernance tools: Proficiency with data governance platforms suchas Collibra, Informatica Axon, and Microsoft Purview for managinggovernance processes, policies, andmetadata.
• Data profiling: Expertise in usingdata profiling tools to analyze data quality, detect anomalies, andassess completeness, consistency, andaccuracy.
• Data integration: In-depth knowledgeof data integration techniques and tools to enable seamless dataflow across systems, ensuring data consistency andaccessibility.
• Data security: Strong grasp ofdata security best practices, including encryption, role-basedaccess control (RBAC), and compliance with data protectionregulations.
• Data quality management:Experience with data quality tools such as Informatica Data Qualityand IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer to ensure data accuracy,completeness, and reliability.
• Datavisualization: Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableauand Power BI, with the ability to create insightful dashboards andreports for dataanalysis.

• Dataasset management - ensuring organized, efficient and effectivemanagement of data assets
• Data mapping andlifecycle management - from data collection through to deletionincluding storage, sharing and usage to maximise datavalue
• Data lineage management - understandingand recording the flow of data throughout the business (origin,transformations, movement, usage)
• Identifyingand partnering with key stakeholders across the business toidentify and understand datarequirements
• Ensuring adherence to internal andexternal data privacy policies and regulations e.g.GDPR
• Data governance implementation to ensuredata quality, integrity and consistency across MarsPetcare
• Identifying data issues anddiscrepancies and recommending solutions andenhancements
