Kafka Engineer

Kafka Engineer - AWS - Public Sector - SC clearance - 6 months (inside IR35)

I am working with a well known consultancy who are looking for an experienced Kafka Engineer delivering ongoing solutions. The role involves building, improving, and scaling a robust streaming data platform for their Public Sector client. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong technical skills, a deep understanding of Kafka, distributed systems, and excellent communication abilities.

Due to the nature of the client, candidates with active SC clearance or eligibility for SC clearance are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable streaming data platforms using Kafka.
• Improve and optimise existing data streaming solutions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data streaming and distributed systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in big data or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka and other big data technologies.
• AWS Platform experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Python.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
