Job Title:IT/Computer Science Teacher
Location: The Greater Horseshoe School, Heathfield TQ12 6RH
Salary: £30,000.00 - £37,000.00 per annum
Hours: 40.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for anIT/Computer Science Teacher to join our close-knit team at The Greater Horseshoe School, part of Acorn Education.
Purpose of the Role
To provide high-quality teaching and effective use of IT resources to enhance learning outcomes across all key stages, with a special focus on delivering the best education for every student, including those with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The role demands a strong ability in Computer Science, aiming to develop the IT department as a flagship within the school.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive Computer Science curriculum tailored to students with SEMH needs, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects of computing.
Identify and deliver educational outcomes across all key stages in Computer Science, including basic computer literacy, coding, software development, and cybersecurity.
Engage students in developing digital skills that support broader educational goals, including problem-solving and logical thinking.
Establish the IT department as a leading program within the school, contributing to its development and recognition as a flagship department.
Assess, adapt, and improve teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with additional challenges.
Create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that fosters students' social and emotional development alongside their academic skills in IT.
Maintain effective communication with parents and carers, involving them in the educational process and updating them on progress and achievements.
Collaborate with school staff to integrate IT across other subjects and support the overall technology infrastructure of the school.
