IT Security Engineer - Rapid 7 - CrowdStrike

IT Security Engineer is required by a Private investment Bank in the heart of the City.

Please note this role is a 12 Month FTC

Skills Needed

• Have in-depth and hands-on experience with Rapid7 InsightIDR (SIEM)
• Hands-on experience with Crowdstrike.
• Experience with PowerShell Scripting on Windows systems is strongly desired
• Experience securing a Windows platform and a track record of remedying complex technical issues
• Hands on experience with built-in protection technologies for securing Windows platforms (auditing, monitoring and event logging, disk encryption, application control, host-based Firewall
• Hands on experience with Windows core infrastructure (AD, PKI, DNS, MSSQL, GPO etc.), and Endpoint Security (AV, Anti Malware, EDR, Vulnerability scanning, Patch Management)
• General knowledge of SSL Certificate Administration

Key Responsibilities:

Security Management;

• Responsible for configuring and maintaining security tools and technologies specific to the windows environment. This will include Rapid7 IDR analysis tools and vulnerability scanners and ensure that these tools remain up to date and properly configured.
• interpretation and implementation of all BAU infrastructure changes.
• Monthly testing the effectiveness of IT security controls.
• Implement and maintain a SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) Solution, including setting up the necessary data collectors, log aggregators, and event correlation rules.
• Implement and maintain an Internal Penetration Testing: Review the test results and analyse the identified vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Prioritise the risks based on their severity and impact. Develop an action plan to remediate
• Develop and maintain Security Baseline: Create a set of security policies, procedures, and guidelines that outline the required security configurations and controls for Active Directory, operating systems and applications
