IT Assistant
Watford- Onsite Monday- Friday
Working hours 8-4.30pm

We are working with an exciting wellness brand based in Watford who are looking for an IT Assistant to join the team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to further develop their career in IT. The role provides exposure to a wide range of IT operations and support functions within a dynamic business environment.

Overview:
The IT Assistant will support a range of IT functions and serve as the primary on-site contact for day-to-day IT needs. The position is office-based across two sites in Watford, with occasional remote support responsibilities for additional locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support IT management and administration teams with a variety of IT tasks including PC/laptop configuration, project support, routine systems tasks, and coordination with external printer technicians.
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support, including walk-ins, ad-hoc queries, and escalation to third-party providers when necessary.
  • Cover IT responsibilities in the absence of other team members and escalate support issues as needed.
  • Act as the primary IT contact on-site for all technical support and troubleshooting needs.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes including account setup and deactivation.
  • Monitor hardware and software inventory, identifying shortages and placing orders as necessary.
  • Maintain user accounts across various systems and ensure documentation reflects current procedures.
  • Perform daily IT and cybersecurity checks, documenting outcomes and escalating concerns when needed.
  • Create and maintain IT performance and helpdesk metrics using Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of the organization's Intranet (SharePoint).
  • Manage and monitor internal and external ticketing systems, ensuring timely resolution and accurate record keeping.
  • Review and update IT policies and procedures to align with current practices.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field- preferred
  • Proven experience in an internal IT support role or similar position.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently using online resources and self-learning.
  • Proactive approach to improving IT services and support delivery.
  • Experience with Windows desktop/server operating systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to manage documentation and assist users.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat prevention.
  • IT certifications (eg, Microsoft Certified Professional) are advantageous.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a car is beneficial due to travel between local sites.
