Job Description

The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a dynamic, highly skilled and experienced academic to join the M School at Central Saint Martins.

As the Academic Quality and Enhancement Coordinator you will play a key role in the development and management of this new school, focussing on teaching, course development, and on-going scholarship.

You will work across both our BA and MA courses, supporting the Programme Directors, Course Leaders and the Programme Administration Manager in the co-ordination and delivery of the College's academic strategy.

You will also work closely with colleagues from the Fashion and Jewellery, Textiles and Materials Programmes, the Associate Dean of Quality, the College Quality team and the College community, helping to create a dynamic and high-quality learning environment that meets the needs our students.

About you

We are looking for someone who is closely engaged with fashion, textiles and design culture, with relevant qualifications, experience of academic leadership and quality, and enhancement processes and procedures. You will also have experience of managing teams, budgets, content and complex activities in a HE setting.

Creative and highly motivated, you'll be able to drive curriculum development, and oversee quality assurance and student enhancement activities across a diverse range of disciplines.

Your profile should include:

  • Experience of teaching and managing a team at HE level, with subject knowledge relevant to the M School Programmes and Courses.
  • A PGCert (or equivalent) qualification, and previous experience of curriculum development and managing quality and student enhancement initiatives.
  • A commitment to improving the student experience.
  • The ability to communicate with a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way.
  • The ability to innovate and develop practical solutions to new or unique problems.
