Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Integrations Specialist with expertise in PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems), RIS (Radiology Information Systems), and a deep understanding of HL7 and DICOM standards. This role is critical in ensuring seamless integration of medical imaging and information systems within healthcare environments. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and vendors to deliver high-quality system integrations, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimise workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support system integrations between PACS, RIS, and other healthcare applications.

  • Develop, test, and maintain HL7 interfaces and DICOM workflows to ensure interoperability.

  • Work with healthcare providers, IT teams, and vendors to analyse integration requirements and provide effective solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to HL7 messaging, DICOM data transmission, and system connectivity.

  • Maintain and enhance interface engines, Middleware, and data transformation processes.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security protocols.

  • Provide documentation, training, and support to end-users and stakeholders.

  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in integrating PACS, RIS, and other healthcare IT systems.

  • Strong knowledge of HL7 messaging (v2/v3, FHIR) and DICOM protocols.

  • Hands-on experience with integration engines such as Mirth, Rhapsody, or Ensemble.

  • Familiarity with Scripting and programming languages (eg, Python, Java, SQL) for interface customisation.

  • Understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical applications, and interoperability standards.

  • Experience working in NHS or private healthcare settings is highly desirable.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience with cloud-based healthcare integration solutions.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data protection regulations (eg, GDPR, NHS DSPT).

  • Certification in HL7 or DICOM standards.
