Individual Learning Needs (SEN) Teacher
Permanent
Full time or Part time (3 - 5 days per week)
From September 2025
The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country's leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six acre site in Hammersmith, London. The School's facilities are excellent, making it an exciting place to learn and work. The students at Godolphin and Latymer receive unrivalled academic and pastoral support and outstanding examination results are achieved.
The highly successful Individual Learning Department is at the heart of this personalised support. We currently seek to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Individual Learning Needs (SEN) Teacher to join the school on a full time or part time basis from 1 September 2025. Applications would be particularly welcome from candidates with a specialism in supporting neurodiverse students such as those with ADHD and autism. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential; applications will be considered from professionals in other related fields. The post-holder will work alongside the experienced Individual Learning Coordinator (SENCO) to devise and deliver individual and group programmes to foster confidence and resilience in neurodiverse students and to provide training for teaching and non-teaching staff.
All staff are expected to contribute to the thriving extra-curricular programme on offer at the School.
The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.
Accommodation may be available for new staff in a local six-unit property.
For further information about our school and this role, please visit our website via the button below. Fully completed application forms must be returned by noon on the closing date. Please note that applications must be made on the school's application form. Neither CVs nor late applications will be accepted.
The closing date for applications is noon on Wednesday 5 February 2025.
It is anticipated that interviews will take place during the week commencing 10 February 2025.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media accounts, as part of their application.
All staff working in the School during the school day will have contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. As a teaching member of staff you will be working directly with, and be responsible for, the children that you teach. You are also likely to have contact with other pupils on a regular basis which may include specific pastoral or other responsibilities for pupils whom you do not teach.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children."
The Charity called The Godolphin and Latymer School (charity registration number 312699) is administered by The Godolphin and Latymer School Foundation, a charitable company limited by guarantee (Company number ).
