Improving Ageing in North Somerset Manager

Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS) has been successful in obtaining funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for an exciting new project for older people in North Somerset. The Improving Ageing in North Somerset programme (IANS) is looking to:

• Set up forums for older people and ensure the voice of older people is heard by those responsible for planning and delivering services in North Somerset

• Work with seldom heard and marginalised groups of older people.

• Tackle ageism and develop Age Friendly approaches.

• Support older people in rural areas.

We are seeking to recruit a visionary manager to lead this project and take it forward into the future.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in project management, significant experience in managing people, excellent interpersonal skills, understanding and empathy with older people, knowledge of the issues that affect older people from seldom heard or minoritised groups and an ability to think broadly and creatively about how to engage with older people. VANS particularly welcomes older people who wish to apply for these roles.

The post is 4 days a week with a FTE salary of £31,000 for four and a half years fixed term contract.

The post is hybrid working and the postholder would be expected to work in the VANS office at least 2 days a week. Offices are located in Weston super Mare.
