Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) matters, including conducting audits and compliance monitoring.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Take operative responsibility for local waste management, optimizing processes to meet regulatory and normative compliance.
- Oversee the classification, sorting, packaging, and declaration of waste, including hazardous materials.
- Develop and implement new concepts for waste sorting, cost allocation, and recycling, aligned with circular economy principles and drive innovation in recycling and resource efficiency.
- Engage in regulatory implementation, including lobbying efforts for new environmental regulations within the HARTMANN GROUP.
- Maintain and analyze waste management KPIs and costs, ensuring transparency and reporting both locally and internationally.
- Monitor life-cycle impacts and implement measures to improve sustainability.
- Manage relationships with waste management service providers, including contract negotiation, qualification, supervision and auditing.
- A degree or vocational training in a related field, with work experience in HSE or waste management.
- Experience in managing environmental compliance, audits, and management systems.
- Additional qualifications such as Waste Management Officer, Hazardous Goods Officer, Immission Control Officer, Environmental/Quality Management Auditor or Occupational Safety Expert are a plus.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, process design, KPI management, and relevant software (e.g., SAP, MS Office).
- Proven ability to identify and implement efficiency improvements in waste management and circular economy practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in English and German.
