Job Description
Housing Options Officer Interview clients to offer housing options advice and handle applications from those presenting as homeless or at risk. Assess and investigate homelessness applications in line with policy and legislation to determine the Council's duty. Refer clients to temporary accommodation and support services, creating support plans as needed. Collaborate with HSCP and other agencies to address clients' special support needs and enhance their housing prospects. Represent the Council in case conferences. Liaise with stakeholders, including third sector organisations and local authorities, to share best practices in homeless support management. Provide data for performance monitoring and management reports. Ensure applicants are on appropriate housing lists and their needs are documented, such as medical forms. Assist with housing allocations, including Choice-Based Letting and Mutual Exchanges, following Council policy. Support colleagues with viewings, nominations to RSLs, and processing applications within agreed timescales. Work with Housing Services staff on research, working groups, and managing homeless issues to improve Council services. What you'll need to succeed
