Herdsperson

We have new contract vacancy on a family managed 900-acre dairy/arable farm, for an experienced and capable herdsperson to take the day-to-day control of 160 Holstein/Friesians with a few Jerseys mixed in.

Cows are fully housed in winter with straw bedded cubicles and TMR, with summer grazing, so besides milking in a 16 x 16 Herringbone parlour with ADF and in parlour feeders, you will be responsible for the dairy and youngstock breeding, and fortnightly vet visits. Foot trimming is carried out via an outside contractor.

A competitive salary with a 3-bedroom semi-detached house, on farm, is on offer for the right candidate.
