Job Description
Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding leader who has ambition, enthusiasm and dedication.

HeadteacherL21 (£85,396) - L35 (£117,534) Required for September 2025 or January 2026
The Governors of St Ignatius College are seeking to appoint for September 2025 or January 2026 a headteacher to succeed Mrs Mary O'Keeffe who is retiring after nine very successful years in post.
The College is a voluntary aided comprehensive secondary school for boys aged 11 to 18 with a mixed Sixth Form located in the London Borough of Enfield with 1,000 students on roll.
The College is in the trusteeship of the Society of Jesus, the "Jesuits", and aims to realise to the full the academic potential of all students and to help them become "men and women of faith who are men and women for others" who will go into the world and make it a better place.
St Ignatius College is a high achieving school. In 2024, the progress score at GCSE was 0.85, putting it in the top 2.5% of schools nationally and 80% of Sixth Form leavers were admitted to their first-choice universities. Governors are proud of the outcome of the February 2025 OFSTED inspection, the report of which will be published later in March 2025 and will be available on the school website. In 2023, the school was judged "outstanding" in the section 48 Diocesan Inspection.
While the school community values and preserves its rich heritage, it is forward thinking and innovative in preparing students for the demands of the 21st century. The College was founded in 1895
and is now preparing for its 'second founding'. The new head will carry forward plans for academisation. Rebuilding of the entire school on the same site adjacent to its present location, including sports hall and swimming pool, fully funded by the DfE, is due to begin in the autumn of 2025 and to be completed in the autumn of 2027.
Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding leader who has the ambition, enthusiasm and dedication to take the school onto the next stage of its development.
