SOAS University of London is the leading higher education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East. Our knowledge and expertise positions us to play a leading role in reimagining higher education globally, ensuring marginalised communities are heard and contributing towards building a more equitable world.

About the Role

As the Head of Student Casework, you will lead and deliver a number of critical and core functions relating to the oversight and management of student complaints, student disciplinaries, and matters relating to academic appeals and misconduct. You will provide leadership and effective management of the Student Casework Team to ensure a high quality service, and will oversee the independent and timely investigation of student cases.

You will report to the Deputy Director of Governance and will be a key point of contact for matters relating to student casework. It is imperative this role works closely with stakeholders across the university that are directly involved with a student's academic life and their welfare, as a means to holistically manage cases relating to a student.

It will be an important focus for you and the team to promote a good student experience and to uphold a responsibility of a duty of care to individual students as well as the wider student community at SOAS.
