Job Description

The Opportunity:

To contribute to the College's success and to positive staff and student experience through enabling the effective exploitation of IT for teaching, research, administrative/business processes, knowledge exchange and raising the College's reputation.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

The salary for this post is £62,098 to £76,398 per annum.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • An undergraduate degree and/or a professional qualification in computing, technology enhanced learning, information systems
  • Significant previous experience of an IT leadership role requiring strategic development in a large and complex organisation.
  • Experience of developing technical strategies to support the core business functions in a major organisation
  • Excellent influencing skills, relationship-building and negotiating skills to create collaboration and strong partnerships across a major organisation.
  • Proven track record in leading change. Insight into how best to exploit and deliver integrated IT solutions to best effect in a large organisation

About the Team

The User Services Division (USD) is the largest of the divisions in Information Services and comprises six service sections, namely:

  • Help Services providing frontline help across all IS-managed services at the Main Library and Site libraries.
  • Operational Services running the IS Helpline for all IS-managed services and providing expert IT support and service delivery on desktop and personal computing.
  • Library Academic Support, responsible for advice and consultancy on all library services and providing regular liaison and review with each of the Schools.
  • IT Consultancy, responsible for advice and consultancy on all IT services and providing regular liaison and review with each of the Schools.
  • Relationship Management, responsible for maintaining an ongoing level of engagement between the University community and Information Services Group (ISG) on all IT services with regular liaison and review with each of the Schools/Units.
