The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Government Affairs to join our high-performing team. This is a transformational role created to ensure that CIBSE's research and technical standards positively impact policy-making in the UK and globally. The successful candidate will work closely with our Technical Director and Chief Executive to drive and deliver our policy agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify strategic policy priorities for CIBSE and lead the development and delivery of policy positions.
- Build and maintain strong, influential relationships with stakeholders and policy makers.
- Act as a spokesperson for CIBSE, representing the institution at senior stakeholder meetings and external engagements.
- Collaborate with the technical team to integrate policy work with CIBSE's technical guidance and standards.
- Work with the Technology Committee to review and approve policy positions.
- Ensure effective engagement and consultation with CIBSE members on policy matters.
- Liaise with international partners to support global policy initiatives.
About You:
- Substantial experience in policy development, analysis, and influence at a senior level.
- Proven ability to lead multiple engagement programmes across various policy domains.
- Strong analytical skills and intellectual rigour.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly.
- Experience in the built environment sector is highly desirable.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive and innovative approach to policy development and stakeholder engagement.
