About the Team
The Professional Regulation directorate is responsible for delivery of the NMC's core regulatory functions. We work with a range of contractual partners to ensure our services meet the highest standards. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Contract Management to join our team and lead our contract management efforts. This role will be responsible for driving and maintaining strong effective contractual relationships across the Directorate to ensure delivery of our shared aims. You will lead a small team of contract and quality managers.
Examples of contractual partnerships are provision of testing services when people apply to join our register, development and assurance of test materials, and legal firms providing casework services.
About the role
This an exciting new role that will provide senior leadership and oversight for all contracts that sit within the Professional Regulation directorate, which are of varying value and complexity. You will drive contractual performance, ensure cost-effectiveness, and adopt best practices in contract management, governance, and team leadership. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial to this role.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience managing and leading a high-profile function at a senior level, with strong contracts management experience.
- You'll possess a deep understanding of public sector procurement, including relevant legislation, and have been involved in large-scale procurement exercises.
- You'll be commercially minded, with the ability to work through complex contractual issues to reach pragmatic and beneficial negotiated positions that satisfy all parties involved.
- Your highly developed communication and influencing skills enable you to convey ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, able to manage conflict, and gain confidence from stakeholders.
- You'll be passionate about public sector procurement.
